  • Can I take bio and math in 12th?

Can I take bio and math in 12th?

Can I take bio and math in 12th? A PCMB student studies Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Biology. Typically, Biology students take Math as an additional subject to keep career options open since Biology is often seen as having fewer opportunities or less prestigious colleges in India.

Math is just a passing subject for them, while their percentage depends on Biology. However, for an engineering (JEE) aspirant, taking Biology as an additional subject is unnecessary and burdensome since Biology has no relevance in engineering.

Can I take bio and math in 12th
Can I take bio and math in 12th

Furthermore, some colleges accept students with Math as an additional subject, but medical colleges do not admit students who have Biology as an additional subject. Hence, taking Math as an additional subject is a logical choice, while taking Biology as an additional subject is unclear and impractical.

Can I take bio and math in 12th?

YES, I’m a PCMB student. (PCMB means Physics, chemistry, math and biology). Yes obviously. Maths is taken additional most of the time along with bio as a main subject. So u need to just pass in your additional subject but you need to get good marks in bio because bio would be your main subject. Your percentage will be dependent on Bio not on maths.

This is taken mostly by Biology students. They take Maths as additional so that … later they can either change their course or can take benefits of both …( because bio has less scope or less reputed colleges acc to the Indian system.)

Can I take bio and math in 12th
Can I take bio and math in 12th

But an engineer (JEE aspirant) taking bio as an additional subject is a very foolish choice. Because bio is not useful even 1% in engineering. And it will be mere stupidity to take bio as an additional but maths as a main subject. It will burden you only.. because there will be no use in doing bio as an additional subject.

One main reason for this is also that… some universities or colleges can allow seats even if you have maths as an additional subject in 12th. But none of the bio (med) colleges would give you a seat if the bio is kept additional subject. So taking bio as an additional subject is a very vague choice. It is an unclear choice. But taking maths as additional makes sense.
