Recognising this, HDFC Bank has launched the Educational Crisis Scholarship Support (ECSS) Program to support meritorious and needy students from underprivileged sections of society. This scholarship scheme aims to provide financial assistance to students facing personal or family crises, to ensure that they can continue their education without any interruption.
HDFC Educational Crisis Scholarship Scheme
The HDFC Educational Crisis Scholarship Scheme is an initiative under HDFC Bank’s social initiative Parivartan. The scheme is designed to provide interim support to students who are unable to afford education due to personal or family crises. The scholarship aims to support students from classes 1 to 12 from recognized private or government-aided schools as well as those pursuing diploma, ITI, polytechnic, undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Eligibility
- Open for Indian nationals only.
- Applicable for: Students in Classes 1 to 12, diploma, ITI, and polytechnic courses in private, government, or government-aided schools.
- Academic Requirement: Must have passed the previous qualifying exam with at least 55% marks.
- Income Criteria: Annual family income ≤ INR 2.5 Lakh.
- Preference: Given to students facing personal or family crises in the past three years, risking dropout due to financial constraints.
- NOTE: For those pursuing a Diploma course, only students pursuing a diploma after Class 12 are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Age Limit
- Class 1 to 12 and those pursuing diploma, ITI, polytechnic, UG and PG (general and professional) programmes.

- Students belonging to underprivileged sections of society

- Passport size photograph
- Previous year’s marksheets (2023-24)
- Identity proof (Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/Driving License)
- Current year admission proof (2024-25)
- Fee Receipt / Admission Letter / Institution ID Card / Bonafide Certificate
- Applicant’s Bank Details
- Bank Passbook / Cancelled Cheque (also captured in the application form)
- Income Proof (any one of the following)
- Issued by Gram Panchayat/Ward Counsellor/Sarpanch
- Issued by SDM/DM/CO/Tehsildar
- Affidavit
- Proof of family/personal crisis (if applicable)

How to Apply

- Login to Buddy4Study with your registered ID.
- If not registered, Sign up using Email/Mobile/Gmail.
- You will be redirected to the application form page.
- Click on ‘Start Application’ to begin.
- Fill in the required details in the application form.
- Upload relevant documents.
- Accept the ‘Terms and Conditions’ and click ‘Preview’.
- If all details are correct, click ‘Submit’ to complete the process.

- For Class 7 to 12, Diploma, ITI, & Polytechnic students – INR 18,000
